Member Highlights

Harrop-Procter Community Co-op

The Co-op exists to develop public forests in the Harrop-Procter area according to site sensitive, ecologically based forestry practices which are modeled on Silva Forest Foundation planning and approved by the Harrop-Procter Watershed Protection Society; and, to stimulate locally based employment from these forest lands in a manner that is ecologically sustainable, and socially and economically equitable.  Any resident of Harrop-Procter may become a member of the co-op.  Decisions are made for the benefit of the community as a whole.  Harrop-Procter Forest Products is a subsidiary company of the Harrop-Procter Community Co-operative.

Community First Health Co-op

Formed by a group of concerned citizens to enhance and support local health care services.  Purchased the “old forestry building” May 2006, now known as the Nelson and Area Wellness and Education Centre.  The Co-op provides access to traditional and alternative medical personnel for a “one-stop” health centre.
